The first piece released by Stoessi's Heroes was one with a personal story. There was indeed a Wehrmacht soldier named Otto Hottenrott. He was Stoessi's grandfather. He joined the Wehrmacht in 1944 when he was 17 years old. His unit was immediately sent to the Eastern Front. He was wounded and captured in Russia in 1945 and stayed in a prisoner-of-war camp until the end of 1946. He was one of the very few that made it back home.
